Course Description and Purpose: Students will discover wellness and apply it to your lifestyle. Students will raise their quality of life through wellness. Also, students will learn about Physical, Occupation, Social, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual Wellness.
Concepts: Students will make sense of the various things they observe - Students will make sense of the various messages to which they listen - Students demonstrate skills that promote individual well-being and family relationships. - Students demonstrate the knowledge and skills they need to remain physically healthy and to accept responsibility for their own physical well-being. - Students demonstrate strategies for becoming and remaining mentally and emotionally healthy. -Students expand their understanding of existing knowledge, by making connections with new knowledge, skills, and experiences.
Course Outline The students will understand Physical, Occupation, Social, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual Wellness through Character Development, Responsible Decision Making Skills, Consumer Health, Community Wellness Projects, Sex Education, Drug Education, Nutrition, Body Systems, and Safety and First Aid. Major Assignments/Activities Wellness Journals, Health Projects, Unit Tests, and Wellness Reading Materials.
