UNIT~ RATIO AND PROPORTIONAL REASONING

6.RP.1~ Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities

6.RP.3~ Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.

 

BELLWORK:   PACKET of previously learned content.  3-4 questions per day. 

Continue mini daily lesson:  dividing decimals w/ decimal in divisor.  H7

 

MONDAY~  2 HOUR DELAY SCHEDULE:  CASE TESTING~ LANGUAGE ARTS

            Review definition of ratio, part to part, part to whole, equivalent ratios, ways in   which to write ratios, order matters, label quantities being compared. 

            Begin identifying tools/strategies for finding equivalent ratios.

WEDNESDAY~ 2 HOUR DELAY SCHEDULE:  CASE TESTING~ MATH

            Review tool/strategies of finding equivalent ratios:  tape diagram

            NY Engage Lesson Lesson 5:  Guided Learning:  Partner work~ exercise ?;  Independent work~ problem set

 

THURSDAY~ Go over problem set w/ students checking for understanding/misconceptions.   Make sure students can find missing value: if given part to part~ find total; if given part to total~ find missing part.  Connect to proportions!!
