Lesson Plans: Week of April 11 -April 15

Monday and Tuesday: Clearfield Elementary

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: Rodburn Elementary

 

Kindergarten: 

Goal/Learning Target: I am learning to create a pattern using the element of texture.

I am learning to verbally describe my art. 

 

Standards Being Taught: 

VA:Cr1.1.K, VA:Cr1.2.K,VA:Cr2.3.K VA:Cr3.1.K, 

 

Instructional Activities Each Day:

Go over the learning targets.  Then read the story, Pete The Cat Big Easter Adventure.  Then model for students how to make a pattern on an egg template.  They will use tissue paper to show texture.  They will paste the tissue paper wads to the lines on the egg to create a fluffy egg.  When students finish, they will share their eggs and describe the patterns that they made. 

Students will also be coloring pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Rodburn will color the child abuse prevention sheet this week. Next week, CES will do this activity / K-5.

 

Materials: Pinwheel coloring sheets for Child Abuse Prevention Month, egg templates, tissue paper squares, glue sticks, crayons, Book or read aloud : Pete The Cat Big Easter Adventure

 

First Grade:

Goal/Learning Target: I am learning to draw a bunny using the elements of line, shape, texture and space.  I am learning to overlap. I am learning to draw a pattern. 

 

Standards Being Taught:

VA: Cr1.1.1, VA:Cr1.2.1, VA:Cr3.1.1

 

Instructional Activities Each Day:

Go over the learning targets.  Then read the story, How to Catch the Easter Bunny.  Then model for students how to draw a bunny. Model how to draw a pattern in the background using rulers to make straight lines.  They will make the bunny look like it is overlapping the lines.  They will color their pattern.  

Students will also color a pinwheel coloring sheet for Child Abuse Prevention Week. (RES)

 

Materials: Drawing paper, pencils, crayons, pinwheel coloring sheets, read aloud or book for How to Catch the Easter Bunny

 

Second Grade:

Goal/Learning Target: I am learning to draw a bunny in the grass using line, shape, texture and space. I am going to use overlapping shapes.

VA:Cr1.1.2, VA:Cr1.2.2, VA:Pr5.1.2, VA:Cn10.1.2

 

Third Grade:

 

Goal/Learning Target: I am learning to draw a landscape using foreground, middle ground and background using Google Draw.

 

Standards Being Taught/Assessed: 

VA:Re7.2, VA:Re8.1, VA:Cr1.1,  VACr2.1, Cr3.1, Cr4.1, VA:Pr4

 

Instructional Activities Each Day: Students will finish landscapes from last week.

Introduce the learning target.  Then have students watch a Google Slides presentation about what makes a landscape.  The video will explain the foreground, middle ground and background of a landscape.  The video will also explain the horizon line.  Then have students watch the presentation about Google Drawing Basics.  This video shows how to create using the different features of Google Draw.  After watching this video, have students open up their chromebooks and get into their Google account.  They will create a landscape using Google drawing.  They will give it a name and share it with me.  This may take 2 class periods.  

 

Then students will color pinwheels coloring sheet for Child Abuse Prevention Week.

Fourth Grade:
