Rowan County Middle School offers 6th Grade Beginning Band class, 7th Grade Concert Band, and 8th Grade Concert Band. Each band meets daily. The RCMS band performs two concerts each year, and also attends the KMEA District 8 Concert Festival. The band performs for the annual RCMS Veterans Day Celebration, and occasionally serves as a pep band at sporting events. Many RCMS band members take advantage of other performance opportunities, such as solo and ensemble festival and Jazz Band. RCMS Students have the opportunity to audition for the KMEA All-District Middle School Band.
