Director of Federal Programs
Title 1 Resource Library
What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program. The purpose of Title I is to provide all children with significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps
How does Title I impact schools?
In Rowan County, Title I funds are used to supplement schools with additional staffing, provide important math and reading resources, as well as purchase technology platforms to be able to be used at home to support reinforcement of student learning that occurred at school.
How does Title I impact you?
An important component of our Title I programs at the elementary level is parent and family engagement. Each school in our district hosts a variety of family engagement events. These events are designed to allow you and your children to meet teachers and staff, interact with other families, learn about our schools, and discover ways you can assist your child with their education at home. In addition our schools work with community partners to provide assistance to the needs of our families.
