The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer program is a financial resource for families with students who lost access to free or reduced-priced meals due to COVID_19. All Rowan County School students are eligible, as we are district-wide free. If you are already receiving public assistance, such as SNAP or Medicaid, you will automatically receive these benefits. If you are not currently receiving benefits you may apply at Kentucky’s Benefind website.

Meals To You Program

The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty is excited to work with school districts and state agencies across the U.S. to ensure students have the nutritious meals they need, even when school is out. If your school district is on the list, you can sign up here for the Meals-to-You delivery service at no cost to your family, and we’ll make sure a box for each child in the household is on its way with the next shipment.  Applications open Thursday May 28th

  1. Wash hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds (the length of time it takes to sing Happy Birthday twice.)  If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  4. Stay home when you are sick
  5. Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or with a tissue.  (Make sure to properly dispose the tissue after use.)
  6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

Those students who participate in the Backpack program will have NTI packet and meal deliveries made by the representatives from the schools’ Family Resource and Youth Services Centers throughout.

Also, please note that all extracurricular activities have been cancelled during the closure.  All athletic games and practices have been cancelled for the rest of the school year.

As this is a rapidly evolving situation, updates will be made available on the District website or through future School Messenger all-call messages.
