Hello! I am Jeremey Wright.
Welcome to my page!
I have been involved in education for 16 years. I started by volunteering in a summer program for children in 3rd to 6th grades. This led me to a position in a behavioral classroom as an instructional assistant. After a few years, I decided that teaching is what I wanted to do. I attended UMASS Amherst where I received a B.A. in early childhood education. I was offered a position in an elementary school to develop a program for children with behavioral needs. While running this program I also attended UMASS Amherst where I earned a Masters in Education with a concentration in Special Ed. I was then hired in Amherst as a special education teacher where I taught fifth and sixth special ed. and math and reading in a co-taught classroom. 3 years ago I started working in Rowan county in varying roles; long term sub, sub and ESS. Now, I am proud part of the fourth grade team here at McBrayer Elementary School.
I live on a small farm with chickens, cats, a dog and my wife Rebecca and our daughter, Thea who attends McBrayer and is in 3rd grade. Our son, Nikolai, recently moved to Massachusetts to continue his own life adventure. We enjoy gardening in the spring and summer. I am a foody which means I love to create delicious food with the fresh vegetables that we grow. I love to travel and was lucky enough to have taken a 3 month road trip with my wife and daughter three years ago across this great nation. I to take hikes on our farm and eating well. I enjoy working with wood and fixing anything thats broken. I absolutely love teaching math and science.
