Hi! I am Amanda (Mandy) Andrews Hartzel, and I am one of two FABULOUS fifth grade teachers here at Clearfield Elementary. This is my fifth year teaching 5th grade, and I couldn't love it more! I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and moved to Kentucky when I was 6 years old. I grew up in Ashland, and moved to Morehead to go to school at Morehead State University. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and also Special Education (Learning and Behavior Disabilities K-12). I just received my Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands in May of 2018.
My husband and I live in Flemingsburg with our 3 dogs: Adalida (my pug), Lily, and Tag.
Some of my favorite things to do when I'm not at school are: Reading, hiking, shopping, eating lunch or grabbing a coffee at The Fuzzy Duck, hanging out with friends, or playing with my three fur-babies (who will often appear in stories that I tell my students!)
If you ever want or need to contact me, you can always send me an email because I check it daily. Our homeroom class will also be using ClassDojo as a way to communicate behavior and classroom events.
