Hello and welcome to my web page. I am a native of Montgomery County, but now reside on a farm in Morgan County with my husband Drexel, and our Pomeranian, Chip. We have one son, David and Joan Patrick, and granddaughter Taylor.
I received my bachelors degree from The University of West Florida in Pensacola and my masters degree from Morehead State University. I began my teaching career at Montgomery County High School. After marriage and a move I became a substitute teacher with the Morgan County School System. A few years later I decided to return to teaching full-time and spent 4 years teaching at Elliott County High School. In 1990 I began teaching here at Rowan County Middle School and love my students and school family.
Outside of my school life I am a member of the 519 Volunteer Fire Department and Lick Fork Pentecostal Church of God. In my 'spare' time I enjoy scrapbooking, family time, and my part-time career as a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
My conference time is 8:17-9:05. You may call the school office at 784-8911 to schedule a conference at your convenience. I can also be reached via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
My homeroom is 6th grade team 2. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade reading, and 6th grade Language Arts in a resource setting in addition to co-teaching one 6th grade Language Arts class with Mrs. Jackson.
My goal for my students is to become independent and fluent readers understanding the content presented to them, and be able to communicate legibly their needs and ideas.
